Does your organisation
qualify?
Google Ad Grants is available to eligible not-for-profits through the Google for Nonprofits program. Here's how eligibility generally works for Australian organisations.
Generally eligible
- Australian charities registered with the ACNC
- Organisations verified through Google for Nonprofits
- Organisations with a functioning website that meets Google's Ad Grants website policy
- Organisations that agree to the program's terms and non-discrimination requirements
Generally not eligible
- Government entities and organisations
- Hospitals and healthcare organisations (some health-related charities may still qualify)
- Schools, academic institutions and universities (Google for Education is the relevant program instead)
Eligibility criteria are set by Google and can change. The above is a general summary only. The definitive requirements are published by Google, and eligibility is confirmed through the Google for Nonprofits verification process. Checking this properly is the first thing we do.
Skip the guesswork.

Your website matters too
Ad Grants doesn't just assess your organisation. It also assesses where the ads send people. To hold the grant, your website generally needs to:
- Be owned and operated by your organisation, on your own domain
- Clearly describe your nonprofit's mission and activities
- Provide substantial, up-to-date content
- Load securely (HTTPS)
- Avoid commercial activity that falls outside program policies
If your website needs work before it can pass review, we'll tell you exactly what to fix and can help you get it there.
